Praying for a Mantis

I have been hoping that one of these little guys would come my way. I say little guys but I was actually in the presence of one of the females. She was hanging out in my backyard area trying to steal some of the leaves from my morning glory.


I decided to swipe her up and move her to a location where I would have more luck with her showing up on camera. She decided to be a good sport and actually hang out for a while so I could get a couple of shots of her. I have seen many pictures over the years of Mantis's close up and have always wanted to try to capture one myself. I guess it was my lucky day.
